Why this website is called “boss in the middle”.

IMG_0514My name is Jerome D. Jackson and I am the author and owner of the website bossinthemiddle.com.  Yes, that’s me in the picture.  I thought it would be a good idea to let you all know why I call this website “bossinthemiddle” and the idea behind the concept that we’re all “bosses in the middle”.

It’s common knowledge that we have free will. God gave us this so we’d be free to genuinely love Him. He states in Mark 8: 34-35 that, if we want true life, we need to drop our own desires in order to follow Him and support His kingdom. By extension, He is also saying, you have a choice!

34 When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 35 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. (‭Mark‬ ‭8‬:‭34-35‬ NKJV)

Free will belongs to you. Your decisions are totally up to you. You can choose to please yourself or please God. We can literally, at any moment, do anything we want. We can go up to a random stranger and tell them that God loves them, or punch them in the face without saying a word. That’s an extreme example, but we all have that choice.

We have to make a conscious choice to follow Him daily. It’s not easy to do, but it’s simple and possible.

Because we have this choice, I label everyone as a “boss in the middle”. You are the boss, in the middle of God’s love and the worldly desires that surround us. You make decisions that directly affect your future. Wherever you are right now is a direct result of every choice you’ve ever made.

Be a true “boss in the middle” and be mindful of your choices and the counsel that helps with those choices. It could save your life and the lives of those around you.
