One thing I really love about God

IMG_0403There are a lot of things I love about God.  He’s real, He created everything, He never changes, He’s mysteriously on time, He’s always right, He’s always got our back, He forgives us everytime, etc…  I’m not even scratching the surface of all the things God does for us.  Our tiny human brains can’t encompass all of His glory.  There’s one thing I especially love about God, that we as “bosses in the middle” need to remember when making decisions.

He provides us with everything we need and will give us everything we want.  All we have to do is ask.  It’s critical for leaders, however, to not confuse earthly desires for spiritual ones.

Jesus’s words (in John 14:13-14) do not mean he will give you a new sports car, a huge house and a large bank account, just because you believe in Him and ask for it.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think we do God any favors by being poor.  I believe that it’s ok to want a new car, as long as it doesn’t become your god.  Same thing with a huge house and money.   These things are nice to have, especially if your mission is to give to others and be a provider of shelter.

The bottom line is that we need to check our motives.  Only by staying close to the Lord through prayer and meditation, can this be accomplished.  As our will lines up with His will, our desires become righteous.  We won’t be driven by pride and lust.  We will be driven by a deep desire to satisfy our true mission on this planet.  To love God with all our heart and to spread God’s love to others.  As a boss in the middle, you are in the perfect position to accomplish this mission.

  1. I agree. When we ask God for something and it seems as if our prayer is not being answered, it’s best to double-check our motives because God always see what’s inside our hearts…
